Molly Levinson is the founder and CEO of TLG, a strategic communications firm recognized as one of the top public relations advisory firms in the U.S. She is a strategic advisor to influential leaders, businesses, and civic institutions on reputational and brand issues at the intersection of financial markets, policy, the law, and media, and often serves as the lead strategist in global communications campaigns.
Levinson receives the highest ranking by Chambers & Partners for her work in Crisis and Issues Management and Litigation Support Communications. PR News named her one of the “top Women in PR” in 2021 and called her a “known problem solver” when the organization awarded her the 2017 “Crisis Manager of the Year.”
Her experience includes decades serving as a senior executive on both sides of high-stakes news: developing hundreds of high-stakes, comprehensive communications campaigns to connect and engage targeted audiences, and conversely, leading political coverage at major media companies. She serves as an advisor to multiple Fortune 100 companies, prominent individuals, and professional sports leagues, teams, and athletes, including as a leading architect of the effort to achieve pay equality for the U.S. Women’s National soccer team, serving as an advisor to the team and its Players Association since its inception. Levinson also serves as a strategic advisor to law firms and lawyers and is an expert on the legal industry, leading hundreds of brand-defining global efforts successfully integrating legal and communications objectives on both commercial and public interest issues. National Law Journal has named TLG the top communications firm in the legal industry since 2021, and LawDragon has named Levinson one of the “top 100 legal strategists in the U.S.” since 2020.
Levinson’s expertise in developing and implementing policy and communications strategies is rooted in her experience at the most senior levels of news. An Emmy-award-winning producer, she served as Political Director at CNN and CBS. At both networks, she directed all political reporting, led the networks’ Decision Desks, and served as a primary liaison with national political parties, campaigns, local and national elected officials, Capitol Hill and the White House for every election from 2002 to 2012. Levinson also covered major events including September 11, 2001 and the aftermath, and the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Levinson worked in both domestic and international realms prior to working in news; she was an analyst for Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner Research, and before that, at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs.
Levinson serves on the Board of Advisors for Athletes Unlimited, the Fallen Journalists Memorial Foundation, and the Network for Victim Recovery of DC. She graduated cum laude from Wellesley College.
